Body Blemishes

Blemishes on the chest, the back, the arms — marks from years of sun or from old acne that left a reminder. Evening out the skin tone is possible, with patience and method.

The concern

Understand what is behind it

Body blemishes have a way of showing up right when we want to wear that low neckline, a tank top or the bikini. They are marks on the chest, the shoulders, the back, the arms — and, more than an aesthetic issue, they bring that feeling of uneven skin, aged before its time. It is a concern that affects the desire to show your skin and to feel at ease in your own body.

They appear when the melanocytes, the cells that produce melanin, begin to release pigment unevenly. The most common types are solar lentigines (brownish spots from the accumulation of sun over the years, frequent on the chest, back and arms) and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (darkening that appears after acne, folliculitis, friction or hair removal).

Identifying the type of blemish is decisive, because each one responds to a different approach — and your phototype matters a great deal: darker skin requires extra care so as not to stimulate new blemishes instead of lightening. Treating without this judgment can make things worse, which is why the assessment comes before any product.

What we offer

The most modern and effective options

At Instituto Splendore, caring for body blemishes combines topical brightening actives (which regulate melanin production), peels and skin renewal protocols and, in selected cases, specific technologies — all calibrated to your phototype and the depth of the pigment. And there is one non-negotiable pillar: daily sun protection, which treats and prevents at the same time; without it, the sun reactivates the blemishes and undermines the whole effort.

Because each blemish has its own origin and behavior, the protocol is exclusive and personalized, designed during the assessment consultation with Dr. Chris Marchetti — who classifies the type of hyperchromia and defines the actives and techniques at the intensity that is safe for your skin. The brightening is progressive, over weeks to months, with a realistic expectation: blemishes can be significantly softened and the tone evened out, and ongoing prevention is what ensures lasting results.

Every case is unique

Here, no treatment is off-the-shelf

There is no single formula. In the assessment consultation, Dr. Chris Marchetti studies your case — your body, your routine and your goal — and designs the exclusive combination of technologies, methods and protocols that makes sense for you.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Body Blemishes

Are all blemishes the same?
No. There are different types, such as solar lentigines (from accumulated sun) and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (after acne, friction or hair removal). Each one responds to a specific treatment, which is why the assessment is essential.
How long does it take to lighten?
Brightening is progressive and usually happens over weeks to months, depending on the type, the depth of the blemish and adherence to sun protection and the recommended products.
Do the blemishes come back?
They can come back with new unprotected sun exposure or new skin inflammations. That is why daily sunscreen and maintenance are a fundamental part of the treatment.
Is sunscreen really indispensable?
Yes, without exception. Without daily sun protection, sun stimulus reactivates melanin and undermines the treatment. SPF is the foundation of both brightening and prevention.
I have a blemish that changed shape. Is this aesthetic?
Pigmented lesions that grow or change color or shape should be evaluated by a dermatologist before any aesthetic treatment, to rule out conditions that require medical care.
