How it works
The acne peel combines acids with specific action on oily, acne-prone skin — primarily salicylic acid, which is lipid-soluble and able to penetrate inside the follicle, and mandelic acid, milder and antibacterial. Together they promote controlled exfoliation inside the pore, dissolving the excess oil and dead cells responsible for blackheads and comedones.
Beyond its exfoliating action, this combination has an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect, reducing the proliferation of the bacteria associated with acne and the inflammatory process that generates lesions. With continued use throughout the protocol, oil production becomes more balanced and the skin gains a more even appearance, including on recent marks left by inflammatory lesions.
Protocol and results
The formulation, acid concentration and number of sessions are defined individually during the personalized consultation, according to the degree of oiliness, type of lesion and skin sensitivity. The most common protocol involves 4 to 6 sessions, spaced approximately 15 days apart, the time the skin needs to respond to treatment without becoming overly sensitized.
The first signs of improvement — less shine and fewer blackheads — usually appear within the first sessions, with more consistent oil control throughout the full protocol. Being a safe, natural and long-lasting treatment with no cuts or downtime, the acne peel can be maintained periodically as part of an ongoing skincare routine for acne-prone skin, always supervised by Instituto Splendore's qualified team.
