Cellulite

Those little dimples that show up in the right light and make you rethink the shorts or the bikini: cellulite is common, it is normal — and yes, it can be softened.

The concern

Understand what is behind it

Cellulite is probably the concern that generates the most silent self-criticism. It shows up in photos, in overhead light, when you sit down — and many people avoid certain clothes or situations because of it. First of all, it is worth saying: cellulite affects the vast majority of women, including those who are slim and active. You are not alone, and it is not a matter of carelessness.

From the skin's point of view, cellulite (or gynoid lipodystrophy) is a change in the subcutaneous tissue: the fibrous septae that connect the skin to the deeper layers retract while the fat cells grow in volume, creating the wavy, orange-peel or dimpled appearance. Hormonal, genetic, circulatory and lifestyle factors all play a part.

It is usually divided into grades: in grade 1 the dimpling only appears when you pinch the skin; in grade 2 it is already visible while standing; in grade 3 it appears both standing and lying down, with more obvious relief; and in grade 4 there are nodules and deeper retractions. Understanding your grade is what changes everything in choosing the treatment.

What we offer

The most modern and effective options

There is no magic formula for cellulite, but there is consistent treatment — and it almost always combines more than one front, because the causes are several as well. At Instituto Splendore, the arsenal includes VelaShape and Exilis 360 (radiofrequency with vacuum, acting on fat, circulation and firmness), the Ultraformer MPT to stimulate collagen and improve the skin's support, and Lymphatic Drainage to activate circulation. In more advanced grades, techniques such as subcision can release the septae responsible for the deepest depressions.

The right combination depends on your grade, on any associated sagging and on circulation — that is why it is exclusive and personalized, defined during the assessment consultation with Dr. Chris Marchetti. The results are progressive: the skin's texture improves over the sessions and maintenance preserves what has been achieved. The promise is honest: to visibly soften the appearance of the skin, with realistic expectations.

Every case is unique

There is no single formula. In the assessment consultation, Dr. Chris Marchetti studies your case — your body, your routine and your goal — and designs the exclusive combination of technologies, methods and protocols that makes sense for you.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Cellulite

Is there a cure for cellulite?
There is no definitive cure, but there is effective treatment. With the right protocols it is possible to greatly soften the dimples and the unevenness of the skin, with progressive results and maintenance.
How do I know the grade of my cellulite?
This is defined during the assessment consultation, observing whether the dimpling appears only when pinching the skin (grade 1), while standing (grade 2), both standing and lying down (grade 3), or with nodules and deep retractions (grade 4).
I am slim and still have cellulite. Why?
It is entirely possible. Cellulite depends heavily on hormonal and genetic factors and on the structure of the fibrous septae, not just on weight. That is why losing weight helps, but does not always solve it on its own.
When will I see a difference?
The skin's texture usually improves gradually over the sessions, with more noticeable results after a few weeks, as collagen is stimulated.
Do I need to combine several treatments?
In most cases, yes — because cellulite has more than one cause. Dr. Chris Marchetti defines which technologies to pair for your grade and your body.
