How it works
Cupping therapy uses cups — made of glass, acrylic or silicone — that create a gentle suction on the skin. This vacuum gently lifts the skin and the tissue just beneath it, and can be applied statically (cups left in place for a few minutes) or gliding (cups moved across the area with the help of oil).
The local stimulus helps relieve tension and the feeling of muscle stiffness, favours circulation in the area worked and brings a sense of release, especially in areas of built-up tension such as the back and shoulders. Temporary round reddish marks commonly appear and usually fade within a few days.
Protocol and results
The number of sessions and the areas worked are defined in the consultation, according to your tension complaint and your comfort — weekly sessions are the most common.
Because of the temporary marks, we let you know in advance so you can plan ahead. Relief from tension is usually felt right after the session.
