How it works
Manual lymphatic drainage consists of gliding and gentle-pressure movements, slow and continuous, applied in the direction of lymphatic flow. This movement stimulates the return of fluids to the circulation, reducing local swelling, decreasing inflammation and favoring tissue nutrition.
It is a manual technique, without needles or devices, recommended both for aesthetic care and for recovery after surgical procedures.
Protocol and results
It is recommended for most post-operative plastic surgeries — such as liposuction, abdominoplasty and breast surgery — as well as for edema, cellulite, scars and premenstrual tension.
Post-operatively, sessions usually begin between 48 and 72 hours after the surgical procedure, at a frequency of 2 to 3 times per week; the general protocol usually involves about 10 sessions, always adjusted according to the surgeon's guidance and individual needs.
